April fools ramblings

I am tired! Whew! I just wrapped up our big backwoods retreat this past weekend. It was great, but taxing. I am still not completely rested up from the weekend. These are a few retreat pics above.

So with that I am in the middle of my big April busy ministry run. I just mentioned backwoods last weekend. This weekend it is Thrive college retreat at Bogg Springs (I am the evangelist) followed by a busy Easter weekend, then the Arkansas Youth Conference and we wrap up the month with the legacy men's retreat and golf tourney. May slows down a little though, so that will be a good break before summer hits.

It is so beautiful outside and I am wondering why I am in here on the computer... so with that I am going outside! By all!

Well what to mention?

May 16 I am running a 5k race in Harrison Arkansas with my buddy Eric Richardson... I plan on setting the record for third slowest 5k time ever. (3rd behind Cederic and the special kid he barely beat!) I have been running to get ready, starting to feel like I am getting a little faster and thinner!

Major tree cutting and land clearing going on around Rogers Pond! Lots of work!!

Had a great few days at my Bro-in-law Austins house... chilled a couple days, took the kids to the zoo and just caught up. Was a great visit!

Backwoods retreat this weekend... i will try and keep all 2 of my faithful blog readers up to speed on the events.

I just returned from the pastors and missionaries conference in Texarkana AR/TX (twice as nice) and i must say i had a great time! Few notes from the trip...

Yesterday I was heading to fill up the Church bus to take a load of boys to the girls state tournament basketball game. As I pass through town the girls basketball team rolled by on the bus complete with police escort. With lights flashing and sirens blaring the bus rolled through town! It was awesome! All the girls were hanging out the windows waving at all the businesses and folks it town. What a site!

As I met the school bus in our Church bus all the girls hung out the window and yelled "hey brother Nathan!" "we're going to state!" and "pray for us!" followed by "wooooooooo!!!"

It was awesome to think of the connection God has allowed me to have with the students of this community and Cave City High! Confirmation!

China re-vamps their economic recovery package and every market in the world is up thanks to the news... will our market head north as a result of this news??? We will see in about 15 min.

Laid it out there

Well I laid the underage drinking issue on the table last night at 7.Twelve. It really was more of a personal talk than a typical lesson on drinking.

First we addressed the issue and talked about how this issue is destroying our community. Next I shared several verses about what the Bible has to say about "wine" and especially "strong drink." I finished up by posting my cell number on the screen and letting the kids text me questions in confidence. I was able to cover about 20 or so questions during our meeting...

As of now...22.5 hours later... I am on text 122... A LOT of questions on this topic!!

Pray for our kids to be that generation of change here... this really is a big deal! This is a worse issue here than anywhere I have ever been.
